Why Do I Need a Skin Test?
Why do I need a skin test? I have my hair coloured all the time.
The safety of all our clients is paramount to us and that is why we adhere to manufacturer guidelines on skin safety testing, which means carrying out a patch test 48 hrs prior to your appointment.
Although it is rare, a reaction to hair colour can occur and, if severe, can be painful and distressing. At its most serious, an allergic reaction can result in hospitalisation.
Our hair colours are supplied by Wella and La Biosthetique with whom we work closely and Vision Hairdressing are among the first to get to work with their most up-to-date products. Even if your hair has been regularly coloured we will still only proceed with colouring your hair once we are satisfied that it is safe to do so.
If it has been more than 6 months since your last colour appointment with us, for your ongoing protection, we will need to repeat the colour test
We understand that the skin test can be very aggravating from a practical point of view, (from a business perspective we would much rather not need to carry it out) It’s purely for our guests’ safety. We aim to make the process as practicable as possible for all concerned.
